Dr. Ilya Vinitsky, Department Chair, and Svetlana Korshunova, Heritage Program Coordinator, as well we some of our Russian majors and minors met with our Russian heritage alumni on November 23, 2013, at "Onegin" Restaurant in NYC. Several generations of Russian majors and minors as well as heritage students of our program came to this get-together. Vadim Levit, Karina Shmulevich,Dasha Zmachynskaya, Igor Bazay, Polina Naronova, Kseniya Demchenko, Alexandra Malikova, Kirill Peretoltchine, Christina Andrews, Greg Slavin, Tanya Pazhitnykh, Liza Lozovatskaya and many other former and current students welcomed the chance to meet again as well as discuss a variety of subjects including an "Adopt a Freshman" potential pilot program. Our alumni also came up with an idea of establishing an Alumni Fund sponsored by our former Russian students, the Fund would sponsor language study abroad for promising students.
